Attorney Gabriel Castellanos of West Covina, CA; lying loser
The state of California provided Gabriel Castellanos with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from the Loyola School of Law in Los Angeles.
The State Bar Court has charged Jimmy with engaging in the following misconduct.
-
Failed to inform client of receipt of $20,000 of client funds for over two and a half years
-
Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
-
Deposited $20,000 check payable to client in his trust account w/o obtaining client’s signature on check
-
Refused client’s repeated requests to obtain $20,000 from ex-husband in divorce matter
-
Willfully refused to pay client $20,000 she was lawfully entitled to for four (4) years
-
Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
-
Sent at least 31 emails to client falsely stating Superior Court did not enter order of dissolution and that her ex-husband had not paid $20,000 equalization payment and forwarded it directly to Gabe
-
Made misrepresentations to ethics investigators (Screw you, said Gabe!)
-
Settled potential legal malpractice claim with client without first advising the client to seek independent advice from another attorney
All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Gabe for his egregious misconduct as aforementioned. At worst he’ll likely receive a complimentary reprimand or a 30-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. September 2018) Gabe practices with the Castellanos Law Group, A.P.C. at 100 N Barranca Ave in West Covina, California.
