Attorney Jill Gilbert of Chicago; thieving slacker
The state of Illinois presented Jill Star Gilbert with a law license in 1984 after she graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law Illinois Institute of Technology School of Law.
The Disciplinary Commission found Jill guilty of the following misconduct.

Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

Failed to maintain an accounting and severance of property held by the lawyer when both the lawyer and a third person claim an interest in the property

Commingled client funds with personal funds

Charged and/or collected an unreasonable fee (cheater)

Failed to explain matter to extent necessary to permit client to make informed decisions regarding the representation

Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter

Undertook to manage elderly client’s financial affairs who was suffering from heart disease and chronic depression and engaged in fraud and misrepresentation in order to financially benefit herself

Rendered fraudulent billings to elderly client

Misrepresented [lied] about facts regarding purchase of a $3,000 big-screen television for herself with client’s funds

Engaged in dishonesty when she offered a videotape purporting to show client’s execution of a legal document when the document had already been signed

Failed to keep client informed about status of his financial affairs

Failed to hold disputed fees in trust until resolution of the dispute

Ordered to pay client $84,000 in restitution
As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Jill by gifting her with a complimentary 2-year suspension of her law license.
As we speak (September 2018), Jill practices with Absolute Technology Law Group at 180 North Lasalle in Chicago, Illinois.
