Attorney Alex Katz of New York City; lying slacker

The state of New Jersey  presented Alex Katz with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from Rutgers University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Alex guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in illegal practice of law in Pennsylvania
  • Failed to safeguard client trust funds
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Engaged in gross neglect of client matter
  • Failed to protect client interests
  • Made false or misleading communications about another lawyer
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Displayed false or misleading firm name and letterhead

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Alex by gifting him  with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2018), Alex practices in New York, New York.
