Donald Trump: Today’s “Moron” Award Winner

To further establish his bona fides as one of America’s Premier Idiots and Serial Liars, Donald “Trumporleone” Trump decided to go after Harley Davidson, a company he previously glorified as an example of his “Make America Goofy Again,” I’m sorry “Make America Great Again” campaign.

• In February 2017, The Great Leader spoke to a group of Harley employees at the Whitehouse and said in part:

• “So, it’s great to have Harley-Davidson.”
• “Harley-Davidson is a true American icon, one of the greats.”
• “So thank you, Harley-Davidson, for building things in America.”
• “And I think you’re going to even expand — I know your business is now doing very well and there’s a lot of spirit right now in the country that you weren’t having so much in the last number of months that you have right now.”

Several months later, The Great Leader went on a tariff imposing binge against our allies in Europe and Canada. This led to the European Union (EU) hitting back by imposing a 25% import tariff on Harleys made in the U.S. of A.

As a consequence of the tariff imposed by the EU, Harley, which sells 17% of its output in Europe, announced that it would reduce production in the U.S. and move it abroad in order to avoid the 25% tariff. In 2017, Harley sold nearly 40,000 bikes in Europe compared with about 148,000 in the United States. Sales in America fell 8.5% in 2017 but only 0.4% in Europe.

After it’s announcement of moving jobs overseas, The Great Leader decided to go on the attack against Harley. In doing so, he tweeted:

• “Now that Harley-Davidson is moving part of its operation out of the U.S., my Administration is working with other Motor Cycle companies who want to move into the U.S. Harley customers are not happy with their move - sales are down 7% in 2017.”
• “The U.S. is where the Action is!”

So, now we have the Idiot saying he will work with foreign motorcycle companies such as BMW in Germany and WASP in England to punish (actually teach a lesson) Harley.
