Attorney Edward Noyes of Fairfield, IA; cheater, serial offender

The state of Iowa provided Edward Francis Noyes with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from the University of Iowa School of Law.

The Disciplinary Counsel of the Iowa Supreme Court found Eddie guilty of the following misconduct.

Eddie’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Found in contempt of court
• Disobeyed court order to not remove his criminal defendant from the courthouse

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Eddie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Eddie’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to adequately supervise office staff
• Failed to advise client that staff member was not an attorney
• Failed to take necessary steps to assure staff member did not engage in the illegal practice of law

Eddie’s 3^rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to promptly refund unearned fees for 7 months (cheater)
• Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client interests upon termination
• Failed to complete services paid for by client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Eddie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Eddie’s 4^th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to provide an accounting to client re: $1500 fee
• Retained $1500 of $2000 upfront fee to file bankruptcy petition when client advised Eddie he found another attorney the next day that would do the same filing for $1,100 less even though he didn’t perform any meaningful work for the client
