Attorney Dennis Ryan of Quincy, MA; cheating liar

The state of Massachusetts presented Dennis M. Ryan with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Boston University Law School.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Denny guilty of the following misconduct.

• Prepared but failed to record an affidavit attesting that no estate taxes were due
• Failed to attend to the filing of 2000 state and federal tax returns for an estate and the decedent resulted in the assessment of federal and state penalties in the amounts of $9,566 and $1,653,respectively. He was also was late with certain probate court filings.
• Late in duty to file various probate court filings
• Charged a clearly excessive fee
• Failed to reimburse client $11,219 for late filing of probate filings
• Resolved malpractice action by paying estate $53,000
• Failed to communicate with client
• Sought to retain unearned fee after termination without having competed the contracted for work
• Refused to refund unearned fee (cheater)
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to pay the client her share of the settlement within a reasonable time after receipt of the funds
• Failed to provide the client with an accounting of her settlement funds upon conclusion of the contingent fee matter
• Lied to ethics investigators (Screw you, said Denny!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 9-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2018) Denny practices with the Ryan Law Office at 21 Franklin Street in Quincy, Massachusetts.
