Attorney Michael Halcovage of Minersville, PA; ignoramus, cheater

The state of Pennsylvania provided Michael Patrick Halcovage with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Temple University Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide competent representation (Ignoramus)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Charged and/or collected a clearly excessive fee (cheater)
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to promptly deliver funds owing to client
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2018) Mikey will resume his practice in January 2019 after his suspension ends at 40 Sunbury Street in Minersville, Pennsylvania.
