Judge Patrick Colaw of Santa Ana, CA; moronic loser

The state of California presented Patrick Thierry Colaw with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Santa Clara University Law School.

Former Gov. Pete Wilson was duped into appointing Patty as an Orange County Superior Court judge in 1997. Patty didn’t get the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Orange County area. He got it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

In one matter, Patty was assigned to preside over a wrongful death case involving the death of a teacher who dove from a ship and never resurfaced against the owner of a vessel used by an educational program.

Due to his ignorance in handling the case, the Fourth District Court ruled that Patty Ana  erred as a matter of law when he ruled that Chad Ware was in a joint venture with the company that chartered the boat and was found partially responsible for Jeremiah Johnson’s “free-diving” death.

Patty the Idiot granted a JNOV (Judgment Not Withstanding the Verdict) to John’s widow, Michelle Simmons, after a jury found Ware was not liable.

In reversing Patty’s asinine JNOV ruling, the Court of Appeals stated in part:

• A JNOV cannot be granted on an issue as to which the opposing party had no opportunity to present evidence and which the jury was never asked to decide
• Nor can a JNOV be granted on an issue as to which the opposing party had no opportunity to present evidence and which the jury was never asked to decide, she said.
• Evidence at trial was conflicting as to two of the elements of joint venture and whether the defendants agreed to share profits and losses, and whether there was joint control
• All of the elements must be proven for a finding of joint venture to be made

Of course Patty the Moron doesn’t give a damn about being found incompetent by a higher court. And the reason he doesn’t is because no Judge in California and/or elsewhere has ever been booted from the bench from being a Moron.
