Attorney Joseph Hornick of McEwen, TN; liar, serial offender

 

The state of Tennessee provided Joseph L. Hornick with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of Detroit School of Law. 

 

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Joey guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Joey’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to properly account for a portion of client’s settlement
  • Failed to have or create settlement sheet for his client
  • Failed to create client ledger as required by trust accounting rules
  • Failed to properly document trust receipts and disbursements
  • Failed to correctly document checks disbursed as attorney’s fees
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

 

Joey’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in illegal practice of law while license suspended

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

 

Joey’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to promptly file client’s divorce action
  • Misinformed (lied) to client regarding payment of court costs
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  • Made false and misleading statements to ethics investigators (Screw you, said Joey!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 45-day suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. August 2018) Joey  practices at 100 Court Square in McEwen, Tennessee.
