Attorney J. Mark Krause of Fairport, NY: ethical goblin

The state of New York presented J. Mark Krause with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from Syracuse University School of Law.

The Fourth Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Made misrepresentations to ethics investigators (Screw you, said Mark!)
  • Failed to serve an answer to the civil complaint in a timely manner
  • Failed to respond to several inquiries from his client
  • Failed to take action to protect client interests
  • Gross negligence led to judgment of $39,000 being award against his client
  • Failed to respond to client requests for an itemized fill

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Standards Committee punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. September 2018), Mark practices at 30 Larkspur Lane in Fairport, New York.
