Attorney Shane Michael of West Des Moines, IA; ethical troll

The state of Iowa presented Shane Christopher Michael with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from Drake University Law School.

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Shane guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to respond to numerous client phone calls
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Lied to client that Blue Cross agreed to reduce medical lien to $3,305 when in fact the actual amount was $2,479, which Shane then pocketed as an additional fee after he already collected his fee on the original settlement amount
• Failed to act with candor when dealing with client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Shane by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand. 

As we speak (ca. December 2018) Shane practices at 1200 Valley West Drive in West Des Moines, Iowa.
