Attorney John Swan of North Charleston, SC; ethical goblin

The State of South Carolina presented John W. Swan with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Supreme Court found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

• Assisted a client in conduct which was criminal or fraudulent
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
• Represented a client when there was a significant risk that the representation would be materially limited by a personal interest of Johnny
• Improperly provided financial interest to a client
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand. 

As we speak (ca. Swan 2018) Johnny practices at 1455 Remount Road in North Charleston, South Carolina.
