Attorney Barbara Smedley of Pleasanton, CA; ethical goblin

The state of California presented Barbara Smedley with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from Armstrong College Law School in Berkeley, which is a 4th tier school dedicated to serving losers that couldn’t get accepted into mainstream schools like UCLA, USC or Stanford.

The California State Bar Court found Barbie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in multiple acts of wrongdoing
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Repeatedly allowed her credit card company to access her client trust account thereby repeatedly causing a negative balance
• Used client trust account funds to pay her personal expenses
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Barbie!)
• Grossly negligent in handling of client trust funds

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits siting on the California Bar Court punished Barbie by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 60-day suspension of her law license.
