Attorney Brian Halligan of Ashland, OH; Dumbo, convicted drunk

The state of Ohio presented Brian Joseph Halligan with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from the University of Toledo Law School.

The Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Brian guilty of the following conduct.

• Pled guilty to driving under the influence (DUI)
• Refused to submit to court-ordered alcohol breath test while appearing at trial on behalf of client who detected alcohol on Brian’s breath
• Trial judge removed Brian from case prior to trial so that his client could be represented by someone who was sober and coherent
• Trial judge sent Brian home and told him not to drive; however, he did not comply with said instructions and after leaving the courthouse got into his car and drove off
• Charged with and subsequently convicted of physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated shortly after leaving the courthouse and getting into his car
• Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law (Pray tell!)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to refund unearned fee (cheater)
• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Brian by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.
