Judge Bonnie Burke of Amsterdam, NY; drunken loser

The New York Judicial Commission found Bonnie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Disregarded high ethical standards required of judges (What’s new?)
• Failed to act in an impartial manner
• Presided over two cases
• Engaged in an egregious conflict of interest
• Charged with driving under the influence (DUI)
• Charged with failure to yield right of way causing accident
• Presided over 2 criminal matters wherein the complaining witness, Edward Vickers was a close friend and longtime customer of Bonnie’s privately owned hair salon (cut his hair once a month for several years)
• Bonnie described Mr. Vickers as “like my son”
• Issued an order of protection on behalf of Mr. Vickers against his neighbor
• Failed to disclose her close relationship with Vickers while presiding over the criminal prosecution of his neighbor for disorderly conduct to the prosecutor and/or to the defendant and his counsel
• Presided over criminal case involving Vickers’ wife, sentenced the defendant to a term of imprisonment and again failed to disclose her close relationship to Vickers’ wife to the prosecutor, the defendant and defense counsel

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Bonnie by gifting her with a complimentary censure.  

As we speak (ca. February 2018), Bonnie continues to sit as a Justice of the Peace of the Perth Town Court, Fulton County in Amsterdam, New York.
