Attorney John Howley of New York City; serial tax cheat

The state of New York presented John J.P. Howley with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the New York Law School.

The 1st Department Disciplinary Board found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Pled guilty to one count of failing to file NY State tax return
  • Guilty plea was in satisfaction of failure to timely file New York nonresident personal income tax returns for 13 years
  • Failed to pay taxes he owed for five (5) separate years
  • Failed to file/pay federal taxes for 10 years
  • Failed to pay New Jersey resident taxes for at least 9 years

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Department Disciplinary Board punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2018), Johnny practices at 350 5th Avenue in New York, New York.
