Attorney Thomas McCabe of New York City; repeat offender

The state of New York presented Thomas Eugene McCabe with a law license in 2014 after he graduated from Quinnipiac University Law School. Tommy also received a law license from the state of Connecticut in 2003.

The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Engaged in sexual relationship with client
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Tommy!)
  • Failed to account for client funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2018), Tommy will be eligible to continue practicing his brand of law beginning in November 2018 with the Law Office of Thomas E. McCabe in New York City.
