Attorney James Chesloe of LaGrange, IL; ethical gnome

The state of Illinois presented James Michael Chesloe with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from DePaul University Law School.

The Disciplinary Commission found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Jimmy prepared a will for a client, met with that client, and then instructed the client to sign the will outside the presence of witnesses. Later, Mikey instructed an employee and another person to sign the witness attestation clause even though they had not been present when the client signed the will. As a result, the will was challenged and declared invalid after the client’s death.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (February 2018), Jimmy practices with James M. Chesloe Ltd. at 1030 South Lagrange Road in LaGrange, Illinois.
