Attorney Lamar E. Ottsen Jr. of St. Louis; check bouncer

The state of Missouri presented Lamar E. Ottsen Jr. with a law license in 1964 after he graduated from Washington University Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Lamar guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Wrote check on insufficient funds account (rubber)
  • Failed to deposit unearned fees into a trust account
  • Failed to promptly notify client of receipt of client funds
  • Failed to timely withdraw earned fees from trust account
  • Failed to properly reconcile trust account

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Missouri Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year term of probation.

In truth, the comedians sitting on Missouri Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Bobby.

As we speak (ca. February 2018), Bobby practices with Ottsen Leggett & Belz LC at 112 South Hanley Street in St. Louis, Missouri
