Edward O’Sullivan of Boston; thief, repeat offender

The state of Massachusetts presented James S. Dilday with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Rutgers University New England School of Law.

The Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers found Eddie guilty of the following misconduct.

Eddie’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

In one matter, Eddie was convicted for conspiracy to make false statements to a federally insured

bank in connection with his purchase of two pieces of real estate. 3 -year suspension

The felony conviction arose from Eddie’s submission to the bank closing documents that falsely asserted that he, as borrower, had paid a cash deposit from his own funds, that he paid funds at the closing from his own assets and, in one of the transactions, that he intended to occupy the real estate as his principal residence.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers punished Eddie by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

Eddie’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to adequately research matters re: sale of client’s home
  • Gave erroneous advice to 83-year old client on matters dealing with sale of her home
  • Over 11 years did not prepare or file account of his actions as receiver in probate matter
  • Provided misleading information to probate court
  • Charged several clients excessive fees (thief)
  • Prepared and caused to be filed false accounts of claimed fees
  • Refused to provide accounting of receivership funds in his possession
  • Failed to maintain records regarding receipt/disposition of proceeds from property sale
  • Failed to seek court order to distribute receivership estates
  • Commingled personal funds with client fiduciary funds
  • Intentionally used receivership funds for personal use (crook)
  • Falsely inflated hourly fee to defraud clients

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, Eddie was ordered disbarred.

Unbelievably, several years later the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers voted to reinstate Eddie’s law license.

Apparently, the Board believed Eddie had a constitutional right to earn a dishonest living practicing law.

As we speak (ca. June 2018) Eddie practices with Capital Associates Inc. at 44 School Street in Boston, Massachusetts.
