Attorney P. Stephen Turo of Worcester, MA; check bouncing loser

The state of Massachusetts presented P. Stephen Turo with a law license in 1966 after he graduated from Boston University Law School.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Wrote at least 3 checks on insufficient fund account (rubber)
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to maintain complete records of the receipt, maintenance, and disposition of clients’ funds
  • Failed to prepare and maintain a check register
  • Failed to prepare/maintain chronological ledger for each client
  • Failed to prepare and maintain reconciliation reports at least
  • every sixty days showing the required reconciliation of check registers

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Because Attorney Misfits in Massachusetts are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Stevie was never criminally charged with writing bad checks.

As we speak (ca. September 2018) Stevie practices at 177 Grafton Street in Worcester, Massachusetts.
