Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner is Newt Gingrich

Congratulations to….

Newt Gingrich
Today’s Screwball” Award Winner

Newton Leroy Gingrich (aka, Screwy Newt) recently attached child labor laws as “truly stupid.” Newt the Humanitarian went on to say of children working as school janitors, “Most of these schools ought to get rid of the unionized janitors, have one master janitor and pay local students to take care of the school.”

As could be expected, Newt limited his demand for “school children janitors” to schools that are for the most part located in the inner city. Hmmm, wonder why Newt doesn’t think child janitors would be appropriate in upscale schools like Ottawa Hills (Toledo suburb) or Eldorado Hills (Sacramento suburb)?

The average annual median income for janitors (public and private) is about $24,500. Goshes and Gollies, that’s a princely sum, right?

As we now know, Screwy Newt was paid around $1.8 million by Freddie Mac for allegedly acting as an advisor. Newt was paid $25,000 to $30,000 a month by Freddie Mac. Newt recently admitted that he worked about one-hour for Freddie Mac while being paid $1.8 million.

Newt’s actual hourly rate while advising Freddie Mac over several years was about $27,500. To earn the same amount, a janitor would have to work about 57 weeks at 40 hours per week. Who do you think provides a more valuable service? I thought so!

Now if we could eliminate every unionized janitor working in every public school systgem in the country and replace them with students we could likely reduce taxes on billionaires and millionaires by another 0.5%.

And lastly Newt, If they’re old enough to work as a janitor in inner city schools, how about supporting a law allowing them to vote in the November 2012 Presedential election? My bad Newt!

Congrats Newt; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as a Certified Screwball; you are far too humble.
