Attorney Michael Johnson Sr. of Atlanta, GA; scammer, repeat offender

The state of Georgia presented Michael Robert Johnson Sr. with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the University of Georgia Law School.

The Georgia State Bar found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

In addition to the two (2) instances of misconduct set forth below, Mikey also received a prior complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

Mikey’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

In one matter, Mikey and his partner filed a sham lawsuit against U-Haul International Inc. (UHI) in federal court. Subsequently, U.S. Magistrate Judge Walter E. Johnson called Mikey’s failure to take a reasonable prefiling look at his clients’ employment history “obvious,” even as he failed to withdraw the claims against UHI and engaged in months of meritless discovery.

Mikey’s frivolous conduct led Judge Johnson to sanctioning him and in doing so, the Judge said in part:

  • “[T]hese attorneys are not sufficiently knowledgeable of the law governing employment discrimination and breach of contract claims.” “They also lack professionalism, as exhibited by the outrageous assertions they repeatedly made in this case about opposing counsel and the court.”

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, Judge Johnson imposed a sanction of $10,000 and ordered that he attend state bar seminars on employment discrimination litigation as well as ethics and professionalism.

Mikey’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Knowingly assisted disbarred attorney to engage in illegal practice of law
  • Took $2,500 retainer from client with a civil case and handed the case over to his paralegal, who was a disbarred attorney
  • Abandoned his client in a civil case
  • Failed to personally perform any work on client’s matter
  • Failed to refund unearned fee (thief)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Keith by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2017), Mikey practices with Johnson & Associates PC at 340 West Peachtree Street NW in Atlanta, Georgia.
