Judge Erica Yew of San Jose, CA; cheerleader for Judicial Misfits
The state of California presented Erica Robin Yew with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from University of California Hastings Law School.
Former Gov. Gray Davis was duped into appointing Erica to a seat on the Santa Clara County Superior Court in 2001. Erica didn’t get the appointment because she was the most qualified lawyer in the greater Providence area. She got it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.
After donning a pair of Industrial Strength Knee Pads to respectfully genuflect in honor of the California Commission on Judicial Performance, Judge Yew went about praising its performance in investigating and disciplining judicial misconduct and/or incompetence.
In a lame effort at levity, Judge Yew spewed forth the following laughable testimony while appearing before the California State Legislature.
"The Commission on Judicial Performance has done a great job of making sure that judges who shouldn't have that job are removed from office, or are disciplined, or receive some indication that what they're doing is not proper, privately, so that y can readjust."
In addition to being demonstrably false, Judge Yew’s testimony doesn’t pass the involuntary laugh test. In fact, public records prove that California judges are given free rein to engage in a variety of egregious misconduct without ever facing serious sanctions and/or removal from the bench.
The statistics set forth below prove that Judge Yew’s statements were not true.

2007 thru 2016 – 10 years
Hopefully, the members of the Judicial Commission chipped in to reimburse Erica for the costs she incurred in purchasing a pair of Industrial Strength Knee Pads for the purpose of genuflecting in honor of the Commission’s sham claims that it is in the business of assuring that Judicial Misfits are properly outed and punished.
As we speak (ca. February 2018), Erica continues to sit as a Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge in San Jose, California. |
