Attorney Jerry Colclazier of Seminole, OK; serial scofflaw

The state of Oklahoma presented Jerry Lynn Colclazier with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from the University of Toledo Law School.

The Court of the Judiciary of Oklahoma found Jerry guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was a sitting judge. 

• Displayed total disregard for the law
• Failed to afford parties to be heard (due process)
• Intentionally engaged in the excessive use of judicial authority
• Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) communications
• Illegally threatened a locksmith with contempt
• Illegally ordered the warrantless arrest of a man accused of domestic abuse where no charges were filed and/or pending and he had not violated a protective order
• Illegally ordered the pickup of children under a general order with no case number
• Intentionally committed acts he knew were obviously wrong
• Ignored statutory guidelines for conducting sentencing hearing by sentencing a person to a life-term for a first-time drug conviction based on unsworn testimony and ex parte communications
• Intervened in a child custody case without cause in an adjoining county
• Repeatedly engaged in “oppression in office”

Apparently, Jerry believed the term “due process” was the means by which the grass became moist in Seminole, Oklahoma in the a.m.

As a direct consequence of his egregious misconduct, the Court of the Judiciary ordered that Jerry be removed from the bench and prohibited from ever seeking or holding a judicial office in the future.

As we speak (ca. October 2017), Jerry practices his brand of law at 404 North Main Street in Seminole, Oklahoma.
