Judge Jennifer Leibson of Louisville, KY; ethical gremlin

The state of Kentucky presented Jennifer Hallie Leibson with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara Law School.

The Judicial Conduct Commission found Jenny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Jenny found it acceptable to find an attorney in contempt as a joke
  • Ordered court deputies to arrest attorney in the courtroom

After attorney taken into custody Jenny said in open court:

  • “We’re just kidding but he doesn’t know it.”
  • “Oh, he is so mad.”
  • “Did you see his face?”

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kentucky Supreme Court punished Jenny by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

Maybe somebody should tell Jenny that Kentucky Chief Justice John D. Minton Jr. just issued an order that she be physically and permanently removed from the bench. And then shortly thereafter, Justice Minton could call Jenny and tell her, “Just kidding Jenny!”

As we speak (ca. September 2017), Jenny continues to sit as a 30th District Court judge in Louisville, Kentucky.
