Hannity sez rich need tax cut to buy boats (yachts)

During a recent (mid-Sept 2017) episode of The Sean Hannity Comedy Radio Show, Sean decided it was time to further establish his bona fides as a Premier Trump Toady.

Towards that end, Sean donned a pair of Trumpian Brand ™ Industrial Strength Knee Pads and went about telling his intellectually feeble and low I.Q. listeners the following.

• “There are certain promises that president's make and that politicians make, that you just got to keep.”
• “And I guess sometimes it gets hard because they push, and they push, and they push, and they push.”
• “Democrats are also trying to set a trap on taxes.”
• “Now the president said yesterday ‘Well I think the wealthy -- their taxes are going to remain about the same. And if not they may go a little higher.’"
• “He never said “a little higher" when he was running for office.”
• “Here is the problem with that. The president's plan to get the forgotten men and women to work here is basically contingent on a growing, thriving economy.”

Sean the Quintessential Ass-Kisser went on to say:

• “It's simple economics, because those multinationals, those corporations, quote "rich people" what they're going to do is they're going to end up spending money and buying boats.”

Sean completed his hyperbolic (BS) statement by saying:

• “And you know the top one percent already pay 39.5 percent of the federal income tax.”
• “The top ten percent pays 70.9 percent.”
• “The bottom 50 percent pays nothing.”
• “So, the rich are already paying their fair share.”
• “The idea is to get them to spend their money and stimulate the economy and build the factories in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.”

First and foremost, I tire of the Republican whining that the top 1% of earners pays 39.5 percent of the federal income tax. The reason they do is because their combined earnings equals $39.5% of the earnings of all Americans. The same is true about the top 10% paying 70%.

To argue that billionaires are entitled to further tax cuts so that they can purchase yachts and helicopters is a disgusting elitist argument. Costs of said over-the-top luxury purchases are listed below.

YACHTS

• $377 million – Larry Ellison, founder of Oracle: built in German
• $300 million – Dennis Washington, mining and construction magnate: built in Japan
• $300 million – David Geffen, entertainment mogul: built in Holland
• $200 million – Paul Allen – co-founder Microsoft: built in Holland
• $200 million – Steven Spielberg – movie producer, built in Holland
• $100 million – Leslie Wexner – CEO The Limited: built in Germany
• $200 million – Mark Cuban – owner Dallas Mavericks – built in Holland

As you can see, any jobs created by billionaires purchasing luxury yachts will not create any jobs in the U.S. of A. Therefore, Sean’s ass-kissing on behalf of billionaires is a bunch of hot air.
