Attorney Matthew Belcher of Chicago; ethical gnome

The state of Illinois presented Matthew John Belcher with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Creighton University Law School.

The Disciplinary Commission found Matty guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Matty endorsed another attorney’s name on a settlement check without her authority and failed to provide a written settlement statement to a client upon conclusion of a contingent fee matter.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (June 2018), Matty practices with Aleksy Belcher at 350 North LaSalle Street in Chicago, Illinois.
