Today’s “Joseph Goebbels Truth-Teller” Award Winner
FYI: Joseph Goebbels was the quintessential truth-teller during his tenure as chief purveyor of propaganda for the Third Reich prior to and during World War II. In fact, Joey’s reputation for accuracy, due diligence and journalistic integrity was the template utilized by up and comers like Walter Cronkite.
During the Republican Presidential held in Orlando on Sept 23, Rick was repeatedly needled by Sen. Rick Santorum on the question of border security after Rick said, “You put the boots on the ground. We [Texans] know how to make this work. You put the boots on the ground.”
Sen. Santorum responded by saying, “But its not working,” which led to Rick saying, “No, it’s not working, because the federal government has not engaged in this at all.”
Put simply, Tricky Rick was claiming that Obama had failed to protect the border by not placing “boots on the ground,” meaning Border Patrol Agents.
During a July 2010 Congressional hearing on Homeland Security, U.S. Border Patrol chief Michael Fisher said, “Currently we have over 20,000 Border Patrol Agents nationwide, more than ever before in the history of the country.” Put simply, there’s many more “boots on the ground” today then there were before Obama became president.
Just because Ricky’s statements are proven to be demonstrably false that doesn’t mean they aren’t true, right Delmas? In other words, more of something can actually be less in some cases, right?
Congrats Rick; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as an Accomplished Truth-Teller; you are far too humble.
