Attorney Richard Thompson of St. Simons Island, GA; abusive scofflaw

The state of Louisiana presented Richard Scott Thompson with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Mercer University Law School.

Dick, a former US Attorney was recently (August 2017) arrested and charged with aggravated stalking in the state for an alleged campaign of harassment and stalking against a former girlfriend after their April 2016 breakup. (Debra Cassens Weiss)

After his arrest, Dick was released on $10,000 bond on Monday after he agreed to treatment at a Florida psychiatric hospital and participation in a family violence prevention program (Atlanta Journal-Constitution).

Donna Crossland, the attorney for the victim, said that Dick violated three protective orders, which led to her client seeking a stalking warrant. Court papers in the matter included emails from Dick to Ms. Crossland threatening legal action and hinting at newspaper and criminal investigations.

It is rumored that Dick opted to participate in a family violence protection program at the Mel Gibson Institute for Aspiring  Wife Beaters located in West Hollywood, California.

In addition to the above misconduct, Dick was forced to resign as U.S. Attorney after the Justice Department determined that he had used his position to help a political ally in an election.

As we speak (ca. September 2017), Dick practices at 5500 Frederica Road in St. Simons, Georgia.
