Judge Tara Flanagan of Oakland, CA; serial scofflaw

The state of California presented Tara Mary Anne Flanagan with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from Southwestern University School of Law.

The California Commission on Judicial Performance found Tara guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Falsely claimed on campaign reports that she was the source of two campaign loans in the amounts of $10,000 and $15,000 respectively
  • Found guilty by the California Fair Political Practices Commission(CFPP) of filing false campaign report
  • Fined $4,500 by CFFP for her illegal conduct
  • Violated campaign laws via use of a cashier’s check for a $10,000 loan, which was a knowing violation of the law prohibiting campaign contributions in the form of cashier’s checks
  • Engaged in improper political activity in violation of Judicial Code of Conduct
  • Failed to disclose true source of significant campaign contributions

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Tara by gifting her with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. August 2018), Tara continues to sit as an Alameda County Superior Court judge in Oakland, California.
