Attorney Eric Stone of Rogers City, MI; convicted liar

The state of Michigan provided Erik J. Stone with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #69 found Eric guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Eric pled no contest (guilty in effect) to allegations that he knew and failed to report to the authorities and his client that another attorney had personally received approximately $500,000 of unauthorized illegal  payments from  a  real

estate broker in connection with transactions for the purchase of property on behalf of a corporation.

When questioned on the corporation’s behalf about his knowledge of the attorney’s actions, Eric falsely stated he was unaware of any corporation employee receiving benefits from brokers or other parties.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Panel punished Eric by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (June 2018), Eric practices at 416 North Third Street in Rogers City, Michigan.
