The state of Michigan provided Joseph J. Sefa with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

The Genesee County Hearing Panel #5 found Joey guilty of the following misconduct.

• Charged an illegal and excessive fee (thief) in 4 matters
• Failed to promptly notify clients of receipt of client funds
• Failed to communicate basis and rate of fee in 3 matters
• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Failed to notify clients of receipt of client funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Panel punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 179-day suspension of his law license. 

As we speak (October 2017), Joey practices with Davison Legal Associates at 327 North Main Street in Davison, Michigan.
