Attorney R. Earl Selby of Saginaw, MI; Dumbo, serial offender

 

The state of Michigan provided R. Earl Selby with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

 

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #72 found Earl guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Earl’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Failed to communicate with clients
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigator (Up yours, said Earl!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Panel punished Earl by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Earl’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to respond to client inquiries
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigator (Screw you, said Earl!)
  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct by knowingly assisting or inducing another to do so, or doing so through the acts of another
  • Failed to expedite client litigation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Panel punished Earl by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

 

Earl’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to communicate with clients
  • Neglected client’s civil action
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Accepted representation not competent to handle (Dumbo)
  • Failed to seek clients’ lawful objectives
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Earl!)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct by knowingly assisting or inducing another to do so, or doing so through the acts of another

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Panel punished Earl by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year term of probation.

 

As we speak (October 2017), Earl practices with Baker & Selby at 29 Brian Scott Place in Saginaw, Michigan.
