Attorney Susan Persaud of Mineola, NY; thieving convict

The state of New York presented Susan N. Persaud with a law license in 2006 after she graduated from Touro University Law School.

The Appellate Division's Second Judicial Department Grievance Committee found Suzie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Pled guilty to criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Knowingly accepted pair of stolen shoes worth $1,000
  • Used stolen credit card to purchase $1,000 pair of shoes
  • Asked fellow thief how she could return stolen shoes to Nordstrom’s and exchange them for three different pairs of shoes
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Thieves sitting on the Appellate Division's Second Judicial Department Grievance Committee punished Suzie by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. August 2017), Suzie practices with the Law Offices of Susan Persaud at 220 Old Country Road in Mineola, New York.
