Attorney Annette Oakley of Philadelphia; lying slacker

The state of Pennsylvania provided Annette Maria Oakley (AMO) with a law license in 2003 after she graduated from Widener University Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Annie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in the illegal practice of law
  • Lied to clients about taking steps regarding judgment
  • Improper communications with represented party
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Made false/misleading statements about her services
  • Knowingly made a false statement of material fact to a third person
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Annie by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2017), Annie practices at 2015 11th Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

CAUTION: Annie does not carry legal malpractice insurance
