Attorney Walter Rohn of Chicago; ethical gremlin

The state of Illinois presented Walter A. Rohn with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Loyola University Law School.

The Disciplinary Commission found Walt guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to hold $5,000 in escrow funds in client trust account
  • Breached fiduciary duty as escrow agent
  • Released escrow funds w/o consent of all parties
  • Instructed client to sign agreement indemnifying Walt re: any malpractice claims
  • Failed to advise client to obtain the independent advice of counsel before signing the indemnification agreement

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Walt by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (August 2017), Walt practices at 6300 North Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
