The state of West Virginia presented James J. Palmer III with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of West Virginia Law School.

 

The Lawyer Disciplinary Board found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Jimmy’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to provide competent representation (idiot)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the West Virginia Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

 

Jimmy’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with clients
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Jimmy!)

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Jimmy!)

Jimmy’s 4th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to file client’s habeas petition before deadline lapsed
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed expedite client litigation
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to comply with trial court’s scheduling order
  • Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter
  • Negligent conduct was knowing and intentional
  • Misdeeds led to actual injury being inflicted on client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the West Virginia Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. August 2017), Jimmy practices with The Palmer Law Firm at 1991 Stadium Drive in Bluefield, West Virginia.
