Attorney William McGurk of Spartanburg, SC; Dumbo, repeater

The State of South Carolina presented William Jeffrey McGurk with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Tulsa Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Supreme Court found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Violated or attempted to violate rules of conduct or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of others

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Billy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2017) Billy practices in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
