Attorney Matthew Rusnak of Lakewood, WA; slacker

The state of Washington provided Matthew Jameson Rusnak with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from Seattle University Law School.

The Washington State Bar found Matty guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with clients
• Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter
• Failed to appear at scheduled court hearing on client’s behalf
• Failure to appear at court hearing led to client’s claim being dismissed

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
