Today’s “Flock-Fleecer” Award Winner is Doug Stringer & Turning Point Ministries
Prior to 1981, Doug Stringer was a fitness instructor who ran his own studio in the Houston area. In 1981, Doug finally came to realize his personal income would increase dramatically if he went into the religion bidness.
In 1984 Doug was able to figure out a way to have Turning Point Ministries recognized as a church, which was unfortunately for his future victims (he laughingly calls them followers).
As is the case with other Fleece-Flockers of his ilk (FYI Doug: Ilk is not defined as a male Elk!), Doug finds it acceptable to bilk his followers by charging outrageous prices for books he allegedly authored and/or for other books as you’ll see in the table below.
Doug is also a sponsor of “The Response” being hosted by Gov. Rick Perry on Aug 6 at the Reliant Stadium in Houston.
To be fair to Doug, his deplorable conduct is no different then his Fellow Fleece-Flockers. Those folks can be found at the URLs listed at the end of this article.
