Attorney Kathleen Smith of Santa Rosa, CA; idiot, repeat offender  

The state of California provided Kathleen Jill Smith with a law license in 1996 after she graduated from Empire College School of Law in Santa Rosa.

Empire is a Fourth-Tier school dedicated to accepting losers that couldn’t gain admittance to mainstream schools like UCLA, USC or UC Davis.

The California State Bar found Kathy guilty of the following misconduct.

Kathy’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to serve defendant with client’s lawsuit
• Summons filed with court didn’t match the complaint
• Failed to attend mediation status conference
• Failed to advise client she would not attend mediation status conference
• Client case dismissed for failure to attend mediation conference
• Failed to appear at court-scheduled show cause hearing
• Failed to perform legal services competently (idiot)
• Failed to keep client apprised of status of her case
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Kathy!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Kathy by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the California State Bar Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Kathy.

Kathy’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to comply with terms of prior discipline matter
• Failed to submit three quarterly probation reports

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Kathy by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license.
