The Law Society of New South Wales presented Monique Hoangsa with a law license in 1999.

The Legal Services Commissioner found Monique guilty of the following misconduct.

• Improperly charges costs to a Legal Aid client (cheater)
• Failed to provide accounting to client
• Engaged in unsatisfactory professional conduct

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Legal Services Commission punished Monique by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
