Judge Mitchell Nance of Glasgow, KY; homophobic bigot
Unfortunately, the State of Kentucky presented Matthew T. Luening with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Louisville Law School.
The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found Matty guilty of the following misconduct. Mitchell Nance Appointed 2004 43rd Judicial Circuit Family Court
In mid-May 2017, several advocacy groups in the Glasgow area filed ethics complaints against Judge Nance. The main thrust of the complaint argues that by removing himself from hearing any adoption cases involving one or more gay parents, he should not be allowed to continue to sit on the bench.
Once Mitch declared that he was a bigot and would not treat any members of the gay community fairly and equitably, he forfeited his right to sit on the bench.
In other words, when it came to dealing with gay folks, Mitch decided he had the right “to dispense with justice” rather than “dispense justice.” Since he took an oath of office to uphold the U.S. and Kentucky Constitutions, both of which guarantee equality for all, Mitch must be removed from office.
All that’s left now is to see if the justices of the Kentucky Supreme Court have the courage and fortitude to send this Disgusting Bigot packing.
The Justices shouldn’t gear that Mitch will have difficulty in finding rewarding employment if he’s tossed off the bench. Mitch shouldn’t have any trouble getting a job as a greeter at the Walmart Supercenter on Happy Valley Road in Glasgow is hiring greeters. And if that doesn’t pan out, he can always enroll in the Lexington Bartending School on Old Virginia Avenue in Lexington.
As we speak (ca. May 2017), Mitch continues to sit as a 43rd Judicial Circuit Family Court Judge in Glasgow, Kentucky. |
