Attorney James Callahan of Jersey City; slacker

The state of New Jersey presented James John Callahan with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Rutgers University Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in gross misconduct
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with estate beneficiaries
  • Failed to promptly deliver funds owing to third party
  • Provided deficient final accounting for client’s estate
  • Failed to include client’s interest in relative’s estate
  • Failed to list decedent’s house for sale
  • Failure to promptly sell home led to continued and unnecessary payment of alarm system bills, homeowners insurance and property taxes
  • Failed to timely respond to client information inquiries

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. May 2017) Jimmy practices at 327 Ege Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey.
