Attorney Richard Wardroup of Lubbock, TX; ethical gremlin

The state of Texas presented Richard L. Wardroup with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Texas Tech University Law School.

The 140th District Court of Lubbock County found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to explain the matters to the extent necessary to permit his clients to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to reasonably protect client’s interests upon termination

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2017), Dick practices with the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association at 915 Texas Avenue in Lubbock, Texas.
