Attorney Roland D. Hughes of Everett, MA; ethical leprechaun

The state of Massachusetts presented Roland D. Hughes with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from Northeastern University Law School.

The Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers found Roland guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to promptly notify client of receipt of settlement funds
  • Illegally endorsed client and insurer’s signatures to settlement check without their knowledge and consent (forgery)
  • Failed to contact insurer re: client’s pending medical bills
  • Failed to reconcile trust account every 60 days
  • Failed to maintain trust account records as required
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers punished Roland by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Because Attorney Misfits in Massachusetts are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Roland was never prosecuted for forgery.

As we speak (ca. June 2017) Roland practices at 14 Norwood Street in Everett, Massachusetts.
