Attorney Nancy Hurley of Milton, MA; repeat offender

The state of Massachusetts presented Nancy A. Hurley with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from Suffolk University Law School.

The Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers found Nancy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act properly in criminal matter when she knew she should have been called as a witness to testify on behalf of her client at the trial
  • Knowingly engaged in an egregious conflict of interest
  • State Supreme Court overturned client’s murder conviction based on Nancy’s conflict of interest and her failure to withdraw as counsel
  • Supreme Court ruled that Nancy’s conduct deprived her client of effective assistance of counsel during the client’s criminal trial

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Nancy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. She previously received a complimentary admonition for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers punished Nancy by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2017) Nancy practices at 400 Granite Avenue in Milton, Massachusetts.
