Attorney Vincent Rowley of Saint Petersburg, FL; ethical elf

The state of Florida provided Vincent Charles Rowley with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of Miami Law School.

The Florida State Bar found Vinnie guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Vinnie accepted cases referred to him by a bankruptcy trustee he believed to be a licensed attorney. When he took the case of her friend who died in a car accident, Vinnie told her he’d pay her a referral fee if he was hired and successful.

After Vinnie discovered that she was not a Florida Bar member, he absolutely knew he was not permitted to pay her a referral fee, but felt bad and offered to pay her $3,000, which she refused to accept.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme punished Vinnie by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2018), Vinnie practices at 111 Second Avenue in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
