Attorney Colleen Hartl of Seattle; celebrated lush, loser  The Washington Supreme Court presented Colleen with a law license in 1988. Previously, Colleen was a Municipal Court judge in Federal Way, which is a suburb of Seattle.
During her unremarkable tenure on the bench, the Washington Judicial Commission found Judge Hartl guilty of a plethora of misconduct, some of which is addressed below.

During the course of the party, Colleen became highly intoxicated (stewed to the gills). She then revealed to a group of court employees that she had been sexually intimate with one of the contract public defenders who frequently appeared in her court.
Colleen also showed the court employees a recent text message from the public defender complimenting her appearance in tight jeans.

Colleen admitted she was involved in intimate sexual relations with a public defender while he was appearing as defense counsel in her court.
The Commission also found Colleen guilty of attempting to influence the statements and testimony (aka, suborning perjury) of a former court administrator who was a potential witness.
For her misconduct the enablers on the Commission and Supreme Court punished Colleen by gifting her with a complimentary censure.
In a lame attempt at levity in regards to gifting Colleen with a censure, the Commission stated, “The Commission recognizes that Respondent [Colleen] is well-liked by many people in the legal community [Yeah, especially male public defenders] and until this current matter, she had no prior disciplinary action taken against her.
